Dr. Florian Herse
Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC)
Florian Herse is a senior scientist in the research group Müller/Dechend “hypertension mediated end-organ damage” at the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC) and the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine. He studied biotechnology at the Technische Universität Berlin and received his PhD in 2007 from Charité Berlin. During his PhD he began working in the field of preeclampsia, high blood pressure in pregnancy, where he investigated the renin-angiotensin system and the Cytochrome P450 system. In 2016 he received the title Priv. Doz. in Experimental and Molecular Medicine. His work was honored by national and international scientific communities in the field of pregnancy and is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. In a translational approach, combining animal models, in vitro models and human cohorts, he currently investigates the immunological interactions, biomarkers and cardiovascular effects in preeclampsia.
At Future Medicine 2017 he will talk about "Early Prediction of Preeclampsia".
